Company Profile
MMA was formed in 1997 by Mark Gorton and Mike Spencer, two former executive producers at Granada Television. Since then the company has made more than 250 hours of television for clients including the BBC, ITV1, C4, UKTV and RTE. MMA has offices in Manchester and Dublin.
Creative Director Mark Gorton has producer credits including BAFTA award-winning The Mrs Merton Show and Tonight with Richard and Judy. He was also Deputy Editor of This Morning and Head of Entertainment Development at Granada. At MMA he has devised Reality Bites (ITV1), The Blizzard of Odd (RTE N2) and Pilot Error (BBC ONE), amongst others.
Managing Director Mike Spencer is a former Head of Regional Programmes at Granada. His producer credits include On the Line and Reportage (BBC), and World in Action and Hooked! (ITV). At MMA he has been responsible for Freaky! (RDF International), Bodycheck (20 x 30 advertiser funded series for the former Granada Media Group) and the relentlessly popular Boot Sale Challenge (ITV).
